While we have been actively monitoring and preparing for the possibility of closing our school, we also acknowledge the degree of disruption this would cause for our staff and families. I assure you that we understand the gravity of such decisions and will be as coordinated, transparent, and proactive as possible as we navigate this most unique situation. With that being said, we will continue to operate as normal until further notice. We know that some surrounding school systems have announced that they will be closing for two weeks starting Monday, however, we have made the decision to remain open at this time. We do understand that you must make decisions you feel are in the best interest of your families, therefore if you choose to keep your child home over the next few weeks, they will not be marked absent. Teachers will provide instructional directives to those students via the online platforms (Summit 6-8th grade and Google Classroom K-5th grade) we communicated in yesterday’s email.

The administrative team has had several meetings over the last few days to analyze and determine what is best for our students, staff, and families. As we have continued to communicate, we know this is a fluid situation and the administrative team will continue to meet to further assess the situation and make decisions based on the information we attain.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this situation for our school community. We are committed to providing you with information and updates on decisions we make going forward as we know they are subject to change.

Sincerely

Desmond Bobbett
