This month students have been studying Force and Motion, Natural Hazards, Genetics, and Chemistry. 5th Grade has created marble roller coasters to demonstrate how forces and motion can impact our everyday life. 6th Grade students are creating earth resilient buildings to show how engineering can affect our everyday life. 7th Graders are learning about genetics and the human impact on it. They are also participating in Socratic Arguments about whether or not it is moral for humans to “Play God” developing the genetic make up in humans, animals, and or plants. 8th Graders are observing different types of chemical reactions using common materials. Students are understanding the differences between endothermic and exothermic reactions and the use of control variables.

Robotics is alive and going into overdrive. The new seasons for FIRST Lego League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). Students are excited and already completing their first prototypes!!! The robotics club has also started. I look forward to introducing robotics to current 4th-8th graders.

Robo Camp is coming!!! I will be hosting the First Annual SAE Robotics / Coding Camp during the next break in October. I look forward to seeing you there!!!
