ABOUT DESMOND BOBBETT

HEAD OF SCHOOLS

  • Mr. Desmond holds a Master’s Degree from Walden University in Elementary Reading and Literacy and a Bachelor’s Degree from Mississippi Valley State University in Speech Communications. He has been in education as both a teacher and consultant for 17 years, and specialized in the implementation of research-based, explicit instructional practices in the elementary and middle school settings.

  • As a teacher he taught 2nd and 5th grades at an Atlanta charter school for 3 years before moving into the private sector as an Education Consultant. As a consultant he focused on training, professional development, and side by side coaching of teachers in various districts across the country. He later returned to his roots as a teacher working with children diagnosed with Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) in the Marietta City School District. At The SAE School, Mr. Desmond began as kindergarten Literacy teacher in 2016 and remained with that group through 2nd grade while also serving as Assistant Principal.

  • Mr. Desmond believes that all students can learn. As the instructional leader at our school, he will have a hands on approach to providing teachers and staff with the support they need to be successful so that children can be as well. His approach will encompass instructional coaching, relevant professional development, curriculum development and fidelity, strategic lesson planning, and evidence-based instructional practices. He is looking forward to collaborating as a school to ensure our learners are successful in both academic excellence and personal growth, as well as building your trust and confidence as the Head of Schools of The SAE School.
