SAE students spend more time outdoors and engaged in projects ranging from growing aquaponic lettuce by using fish waste as fertilizer to designing sustainable parks. Now the school is on track to become the first elementary school in the state to operate with 100% solar energy. “Sustainability is not just a project at the SAE School but a permanent way of life,” Starowicz said.

“The topic of sustainability is a global round-table discussion. Citizens of the world are making serious efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle by-products of everyday living,” said Scott Starowicz, CFO of The SAE School. Starowicz added that his school is joining those ranks.

Southface Institute announced today the completion of solar installation work for its partnership with The SAE School and a groundbreaking philanthropic financing structure that opens the door to solar for other schools and nonprofits. The ribbon-cutting event to unveil the project, a cornerstone of the school’s net-zero goals, was held Wednesday, September 2, at The SAE School, 6688 Mableton Parkway SE, Mableton, GA 30126.

With any excess energy being sent back to the grid from the solar array, The SAE School will essentially help to power their local community.”
